Department of Community Affairs must reestablish a certification program for recreation administrators within 180 days of the bill's effective date, replacing the program eliminated when the Board of Recreation Examiners was abolished in 2013

Previously certified recreation administrators can have their certifications automatically reinstated by submitting a request form and $25 fee within 60 days of receiving notice from DCA

New applicants must pay a $25 application fee and demonstrate either Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification from the National Recreation and Park Association or equivalent education/experience

Certifications are valid for two years and require biennial renewal with a $25 fee and completion of at least 20 hours of continuing education credits

The reestablished program eliminates the separate recreation supervisor certification category, though previously certified supervisors may apply for administrator certification based on their prior experience
