Prohibits the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP), School Employees' Health Benefits Program (SEHBP), and Medicaid from denying coverage for maintenance medications prescribed for chronic conditions when the denial is based solely on a change in health plan or pharmacy benefits manager

Coverage protection applies only when the covered person was already taking the medication before the plan or pharmacy benefits manager change occurred

The new health plan or pharmacy benefits manager must provide coverage for that class of drugs for the protection to apply

Takes effect on the first day of the seventh month following enactment and applies to contracts issued or renewed after the effective date
