Sellers, their real estate agents, or attorneys must notify buyers of any rent control or rent leveling ordinances in the municipality that may affect the property if the buyer intends to rent it out

The required notice must be included in the property condition disclosure statement and state: "Buyers are advised to consult local municipal ordinances and regulations regarding rent control or rent leveling that may affect the property"

Buyers must acknowledge receipt of the notice, which can be delivered via hard copy with return receipt or electronically

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission is responsible for determining the form and manner in which the notice appears on the property condition disclosure statement
