School districts, charter schools, and renaissance school projects using AI-enabled surveillance systems (including video surveillance, x-ray machines, or body scanners) must adopt policies governing their use

Required policies must specify what information is collected, how it will be used, and how access will be provided in compliance with state and federal student records laws

Schools must post signage in prominent public locations in buildings and on grounds indicating that AI-capable surveillance systems are in use

Policies must be distributed to parents and guardians of students in the district or school

Takes effect immediately and applies to the first full school year following enactment
