Educational support professionals (school district employees who are not teaching staff) may receive up to four years of seniority credit for active military service in the United States armed forces

Military veterans must be declared eligible for federal veterans' benefits by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to qualify for the seniority credit

Military service credit applies even if the service occurred before the individual became employed as an educational support professional

The seniority credit counts toward length of service calculations as if the veteran had been employed at the school district during their military service
