Health insurance carriers must cover one annual wellness visit per plan year or calendar year for covered members over three years of age, without imposing any waiting period for the visit

Applies to all major health insurance types in New Jersey, including hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, health service corporations, individual and group health insurers, small employer health plans, and HMOs

Extends requirements to State Health Benefits Commission and School Employees' Health Benefits Commission contracts

Amends existing preventive services law (P.L.2019, c.360) to add the wellness visit coverage mandate

Takes effect January 1, 2027 and applies to policies or contracts issued or renewed on or after that date
