Parents or guardians must register homeschooled children with the local school district superintendent by August 1 of each school year or within 14 days of beginning the program, providing the student's name, age, and the instructor's name

Homeschool curriculum must be submitted to the superintendent and aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards

Supervisors must maintain a student portfolio including reading materials, writing samples, worksheets, and creative work, plus an annual written evaluation by a qualified evaluator (licensed psychologist, certified school psychologist, teacher, or administrator) certifying appropriate education is occurring

Portfolios must be submitted annually to the district superintendent by June 30th of each school year

District superintendents may approve State-endorsed diplomas for homeschooled students who meet program requirements and demonstrate academic skills equivalent to a high school education
