Appropriates $1.2 million from the General Fund as a supplemental appropriation to the Community College Opportunity Grant program for fiscal year 2026

The grant covers remaining tuition and approved educational fees (after other aid) for up to 18 credits per semester for eligible community college students

Eligible students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits, have no prior college degree, file FAFSA or NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application, meet academic progress standards, and have household income between $0 and $65,000

Prior grant recipients with household income between $65,001-$80,000 may receive up to half the maximum award in FY2026; those with income between $80,001-$100,000 may receive up to one-third

Funds are directed to the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority under the Department of State
