Standards must include best practices identified by the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health or another national maternal safety and quality improvement initiative informed by national data

Department must monitor and update maternity care standards as maternal care priorities evolve, ensuring hospitals maintain compliance with any updates

Compliance with the maternity care standards becomes a condition of hospital licensure for facilities providing maternity care services

Takes effect 365 days after enactment to allow time for development of standards and hospital implementation
