New Jersey National Guard members in good standing who have completed Initial Active Duty Training may transfer their tuition-free benefit at public colleges to a spouse or dependent child

Spouses receiving the transferred benefit are eligible for up to 16 credits per semester tuition-free (100% of the member's benefit)

Dependent children receiving the transferred benefit are eligible for up to 8 credits per semester tuition-free (50% of the member's benefit)

The benefit can only be transferred to one person (either a spouse or one dependent child, not both)

Recipients must be enrolled students in good standing and must apply for all available state and federal grants and scholarships before receiving the transferred benefit
