School buses, including those transporting students with disabilities, must display a telephone number, website address, school bus identification number, and other identifying information on the rear of the bus to allow the public to report driver misconduct to the Division of State Police, board of education, and nonpublic school

The Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission must design a sticker containing all required information for buses to display on their rear

Fines for failing to display required information escalate from $250 for a first violation, $500 for a second violation, to $1,000 plus disqualification from school transportation contracts for a third violation

Reports of driver misconduct must be logged and submitted to the relevant board of education within 10 business days; substantiated reports result in State Police issuing traffic summonses and the Department of Education determining whether the driver may continue providing transportation services for the remainder of the school year

The bill takes effect on July 1 following enactment
