Expands eligibility for police chiefs to work past the mandatory retirement age of 65, allowing them to remain employed until age 67 with appointing authority approval

Extends the retirement age exception to deputy police chiefs who were serving on April 12, 2022, and were promoted to police chief within 12 months of that date (by April 30, 2023)

Current law only applies to those already serving as police or fire chiefs on April 12, 2022, who will turn 65 before 2027

Requires the Board of Trustees of the Police and Firemen's Retirement System to submit a report on the impact of extended service on the retirement system within 30 days after the 60-month period ends
