Department of Human Services must complete within 180 days a study on increasing collaboration between State academic institutions, Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers, other healthcare providers, and Medicaid managed care organizations to optimize federal and State Medicaid resources.

$250,000 appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Human Services to implement the study.

Department may contract with a third-party entity to conduct the study.

Commissioner of Human Services required to apply for any federal Medicaid waivers or State plan amendments necessary to implement the act and maintain federal reimbursement.
