Strongly urges New Jersey school districts to establish concussion management teams composed of school-based professionals including school physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, athletic trainers, and administrators

Concussion management teams would work together to manage student care after concussions, coordinate with families and staff, and ensure safe return to classroom and sports activities

Cites CDC data from 2022 reporting approximately 2.3 million children and adolescents had received a concussion or brain injury diagnosis in their lifetime

Notes that while school districts are already required to have written policies on concussion prevention and treatment, dedicated management teams would provide readily available trained professionals to support students and address educator and parent concerns

Directs copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Commissioner of Education and each school district in the state
