Reduces initial terms for New Jersey Supreme Court Justices from 7 years to 5 years, with unlimited additional 5-year terms allowed upon reappointment

Requires voter approval via referendum at the next general election following reappointment for a Justice to receive tenure

Creates a ballot question asking whether each reappointed Justice "shall be retained in office and receive tenure"

Bars any Justice rejected by voters from future Supreme Court appointments; if not approved, the Justice may still be reappointed to another 5-year term without tenure

Maintains the mandatory retirement age of 70 for Justices; Superior Court judges retain the existing 7-year initial term with tenure upon reappointment
