Requests the Governor to issue an annual proclamation calling upon public officials, citizens, and interested groups to observe the day with appropriate programs and activities

Acknowledges Bridges' lifelong activism for racial equality, including founding The Ruby Bridges Foundation in 1999 to promote tolerance and unity among schoolchildren
