Designates July of each year as "Self-Care Awareness Month" in New Jersey to raise awareness of the benefits of self-care practices

Authorizes the Governor to annually issue a proclamation recognizing July as "Self-Care Awareness Month" and call upon public officials and residents to observe the month with appropriate activities and programs

Defines self-care as making healthy lifestyle choices, practicing good hygiene, preventing illness, knowing when to self-treat versus consult healthcare practitioners, and engaging in stress-reducing activities

Cites an Information Resources, Inc. study finding that each dollar spent on over-the-counter medicines saves the healthcare system more than seven dollars, resulting in over $146 billion in annual savings

Takes effect immediately upon passage
