Permanently designates March as "Amyloidosis Awareness Month" in New Jersey to raise public awareness about the disease's signs and symptoms

Amyloidosis is a group of diseases where abnormal "misfolded" proteins build up in tissues, organs, or nerves, causing organ damage and impairing quality of life

The disease is difficult to diagnose because symptoms mimic more common illnesses, and if left untreated, median survival is less than three years

Requests the Governor to annually issue a proclamation calling on public officials and citizens to observe the month with appropriate activities and programs

Aims to extend life expectancy of undiagnosed individuals and improve quality of life for those diagnosed by increasing public education about the disease
