Notes that while approximately 20% of U.S. undergraduates and 25% of New Jersey undergraduates identify as Hispanic or Latino, only 6% of college presidents nationwide are Hispanic/Latino, with just one Latino president currently leading a New Jersey institution

Cites survey data showing 42% of Hispanic students have considered withdrawing from college, with 16% reporting feeling disrespected and 16% feeling psychologically unsafe during their education

Recognizes that diverse leadership improves cultural competency, creates inclusive learning environments, reduces stereotypes and biases, and better prepares graduates for a globalized world

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education, the NJ Association of State Colleges and Universities, the NJ Council of County Colleges, and the U.S. Secretary of Education
