Urges the President and Congress to reject the proposed elimination of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program contained in the Fiscal Year 2021 federal budget

PSLF program, established in 2007, forgives student loan debt for public servants who make 120 on-time monthly payments while working full-time for government or non-profit organizations

As of December 31, 2019, the program had forgiven nearly $100 million in student loans for 1,565 unique borrowers

Eligible public service careers include teachers, military service members, police officers, firefighters, first responders, public sector attorneys, and social/medical service providers

Copies of the resolution would be sent to congressional leadership and all New Jersey members of Congress
