Municipalities would receive 1.5 units of credit toward their fair share affordable housing obligation for each unit of transitional housing occupied by or reserved for low or moderate income veterans with active wartime service

Transitional housing is defined as housing with supportive services that helps homeless individuals or families move to permanent housing, generally within 24 months

Each qualifying veteran transitional housing unit must be subject to affordability controls for a minimum of 10 years

The bill amends the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) regulations under P.L.1985, c.222 (C.52:27D-307)
