Expands New Jersey's definition of domestic violence under the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act of 1991 to include psychological abuse and economic abuse as enumerated offenses.

Psychological abuse is defined as conduct causing fear, serious alarm, or distress that has a substantial adverse impact on a person's daily activities.

Economic abuse is defined as behavior that substantially impairs a victim's ability to acquire, use, or maintain money or property, or to obtain goods or services.

The expanded definitions apply to protected persons including current or former spouses, household members, co-parents, and those in dating relationships.
