Third-party restaurant reservation services (websites, apps, or internet platforms) are prohibited from listing, advertising, promoting, or selling reservations for food service establishments without a written agreement with the establishment.

Food service establishments covered include any place providing food directly to consumers, whether free or sold, for on-premises or off-premises consumption, including pushcarts, stands, and vehicles.

Reservation distribution channels with existing contractual relationships with the food service establishment or its authorized designee are exempt from the prohibition.

Violations carry civil penalties up to $1,000 per violation, accruing daily for each day and each establishment affected.

The law takes effect on the first day of the third month following enactment and mirrors similar legislation enacted in New York and introduced in Illinois.
