Changes the trigger for reimbursement from probationary/permanent appointment status to completion of police academy training, requiring the officer to have been employed for two years or less before being hired by a new employer

Requires full reimbursement of examination, hiring, and training costs when an officer is hired within 120 days of completing police training

Requires 50% reimbursement of costs when an officer is hired more than 120 days but less than two years after completing police training

Applies to officers moving between county, municipal, state law enforcement agencies, educational institution police departments, and NJ Transit Police

Mandates the new employer notify the former employer immediately upon appointment and reimburse within 120 days of receiving certified costs
