If improper storage leads to another person accessing the firearm and causing serious bodily injury or death, the owner faces a fourth-degree crime (up to 18 months imprisonment, $10,000 fine).

Licensed firearms dealers must provide written warnings and display signage about storage requirements at purchase counters.

Appropriates $500,000 to the Attorney General to fund a public awareness campaign about safe firearm storage through newspapers, radio, television, and social media.
