NJ S1444

Prohibits sewerage authorities from imposing new connection or tapping fees on property owners/occupants when the property has been connected to the sewerage system for 20 or more years and is being redeveloped

The fee prohibition applies regardless of whether the property has been in active use since initial connection to the system

Sewerage authorities may still impose connection fees if the redevelopment involves an addition, alteration, or change of use that requires modification or relocation of the existing sewerage connection

"Redevelopment" under this bill is not limited to projects under the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, applying broadly to any property redevelopment

Requires sewerage authorities to reimburse property owners who paid prohibited fees under protest prior to the bill's enactment
