School bus drivers (employed by school districts or contractors) may volunteer to administer epinephrine via pre-filled auto-injector to students experiencing anaphylaxis during transport.

Parents must provide written authorization, physician/nurse orders documenting the student's need for epinephrine, and sign a liability waiver indemnifying the school district, bus driver, and contractor.

Volunteer bus drivers must complete standardized epinephrine administration training conducted by school nurses, physicians, or Department of Health-approved entities.

School bus contractors must provide annual statements to school districts certifying that their drivers have volunteered and completed required training.

School bus drivers, districts, nonpublic schools, and contractors are protected from liability for good faith administration of epinephrine, excluding willful misconduct, gross negligence, or recklessness.
