Two student representatives would be added to the Rutgers University Board of Governors, expanding the board beyond its current 15 voting members plus the university president (non-voting)

Student representatives must be full-time, regularly matriculated students in good academic standing, at least 18 years old, and U.S. citizens, serving two-year terms

The board must hold a public hearing within 90 days of enactment to determine whether students will be elected by the student body at large or by the student government association

For the initial election, one student serves immediately as a voting member for one year, while the second serves as an alternate the first year before becoming a voting member the second year

Student members cannot participate in matters involving personnel decisions, real property transactions, investment of public funds, or pending litigation where disclosure could harm public interest
