Requires the State Board of Education to review and update the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Social Studies during the next scheduled update to incorporate instruction on recent historical events for students in grades K-12

Mandates the board specifically consider adding standards pertaining to the events of September 11, 2001, along with any other historically significant events deemed appropriate

Requires the board to follow the established review and readoption process for Student Learning Standards and provide public comment opportunities, both in-person and written

Establishes an ongoing requirement for the board to consider adding further historical events to the Social Studies standards during each subsequent scheduled update
