School nurses in New Jersey would be authorized to administer opioid antidotes (such as naloxone) to overdose victims located on school property or participating in school-sponsored activities

Health care practitioners could prescribe or dispense opioid antidotes through standing orders to school nurses or schools employing school nurses deemed capable of emergency administration

School nurses and schools would receive immunity from civil liability, criminal liability, and professional disciplinary action for good faith administration of opioid antidotes under this bill

The bill amends the existing "Overdose Prevention Act" (P.L.2013, c.46) to add definitions for "school nurse," "opioid," "opioid overdose," and "overdose victim"
