County boards of commissioners may authorize their mosquito extermination commissions to conduct greenhead fly reduction programs in areas where the flies have become a nuisance or pest problem

Programs must use greenhead fly box traps developed by Rutgers, the State University, including their manufacture, placement, and maintenance

Appropriates $50,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Environmental Protection for grants to affected counties to fund these extermination programs

Targets greenhead flies whose larvae develop in coastal marshes and become abundant from June to September, with peak numbers in July
