Authorizes New Jersey municipalities to impose daily fines for housing or zoning code violations for each day the violation continues until the property owner cures or abates the condition

Responds to the June 20, 2024 Appellate Division decision in Township of Deptford v. Malachite Group, Ltd., which struck down municipal ordinances allowing per-day code violation fines

Requires municipalities imposing fines over $1,250 to provide property owners a 30-day period to cure the violation and an opportunity for a court hearing

Validates any prior municipal actions taken under daily fine provisions and applies retroactively to the original effective date of R.S.40:49-5

Amends R.S.40:49-5, which establishes penalty limits including maximum fines of $2,000 for general ordinance violations and up to $10,000 for unlawful solid waste disposal
