Applies only to newly installed or replacement signage after the effective date; existing signs are not required to be replaced unless replacement is otherwise necessary

Takes effect 60 days after enactment, with no additional costs imposed beyond normal installation and replacement expenditures

Follows similar legislation enacted in New York and Connecticut, and aligns with standards promoted by the Accessible Icon Project adopted by hundreds of municipalities and organizations worldwide
