All menstrual products sold in New Jersey must display a label listing all ingredients and their percentages on the outside of the package in bold, conspicuous text.

Tampon packages must include a "DANGER" warning with a safety alert symbol about toxic shock syndrome printed on the front of the package.

Tampon packaging must also contain detailed toxic shock syndrome information on the side and inside flap, including warning signs, instructions to remove the tampon and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear, and guidance on using minimum absorbency products.

Covered menstrual products include tampons, sanitary pads, discs, menstrual cups, and period underwear, both disposable and reusable.

Violations constitute unlawful practices under New Jersey's consumer fraud act, with penalties up to $10,000 for first offenses and $20,000 for subsequent offenses, plus potential punitive and treble damages.
