Institutions of higher education in New Jersey must place automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in unlocked locations at each athletic facility and student center, with appropriate identifying signs and accessibility during normal operating hours

At least two staff members trained in CPR and AED use must be present at each athletic facility or student center during normal operating hours

Each defibrillator must be tested and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines, and local emergency medical services must be notified of the AED's type and location

Institutions of higher education and their staff are granted immunity from civil liability for the acquisition and use of defibrillators under this law
