Allows municipalities conducting regular nonpartisan elections in May to extend the early voting period from the current 3 days to 10 days by adopting an ordinance

Under current law, early voting for May municipal elections must start on the 4th calendar day before the election and end on the 2nd calendar day before the election

The bill permits municipalities to begin early voting on the 11th calendar day before the regular municipal election instead, ending on the 2nd calendar day before

Applies only to municipalities that have already opted into early voting under the Uniform Nonpartisan Elections Law (P.L.1981, c.379)

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
