Licensed or certified social workers in New Jersey may earn up to 4 continuing education credits by volunteering as poll workers during State primary or general elections

Poll worker volunteers receive 2 credits per election served, with a maximum of 4 credits per license renewal period

Social workers must maintain proof of poll worker service through a certified letter from the municipality, county, or local government managing the election, or another form approved by the State Board of Social Work Examiners

Volunteering as a poll worker is optional and offered as an alternative method to fulfill existing continuing education requirements, not an additional mandate

The bill takes effect immediately and applies to license and certification renewals issued on or after the enactment date
