Reclassifies State Investigators in the Division of Criminal Justice from the unclassified service to the classified service within New Jersey's civil service system

Requires the Division of Criminal Justice and Civil Service Commission to convert all current State Investigator positions from unclassified to classified status upon the bill's enactment

Removes the provision that State Investigators serve "at the pleasure" of the Attorney General and are subject to removal by the Attorney General

Grants State Investigators the full protections of the civil service system, which unclassified employees do not currently receive

Retains State Investigators' existing powers and rights as police officers, constables, and special deputy sheriffs in criminal matters
