State Board of Education must create a new general science endorsement for instructional certificates that allows holders to teach biological science, chemistry, earth science, physical science, or physics in grades 9-12

The State Board must establish requirements ensuring teachers have the special knowledge and skills necessary to work with high school students in these science subjects

Teachers who already hold endorsements in biological science, chemistry, earth science, physical science, or physics may apply to the State Board of Examiners to receive the new general science endorsement

The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment
