Educational services commissions that primarily serve students from SDA (Schools Development Authority) districts would receive $1,000,000 annually from the State for school facilities projects and school security improvements

Funding covers planning, acquisition, construction, renovation, and capital maintenance of school facilities, including fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and professional services

School security improvements include security cameras, electronic parent notification systems, automatic door locking systems for access control, and employee badge systems

The appropriation addresses a gap where educational services commissions serving SDA district students currently receive no direct State funding for facilities or security, despite having the same needs as the SDA districts themselves

Funds would be appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Education each fiscal year to support eligible commissions
