Military-connected students receive enrollment preferences in inter-local agreement schools, including waivers of residency duration requirements, priority over other students, protection from discrimination, and guaranteed admission regardless of capacity when military orders document transfers exceeding 30 consecutive days

Parents of military-connected students who relocate mid-year may keep their child enrolled in the original district through the school year's end, or through high school graduation if relocation occurs during 11th grade

Military families unable to access temporary or installation housing within 30 days of arriving at duty station may enroll children in schools serving military installation families within 10 days of arrival

Military-connected students are exempt from the one-year prior enrollment requirement for school choice programs and receive enrollment preference alongside siblings of current students

"Military-connected student" broadly includes dependents of active duty members across all service branches, National Guard, reserves, honorably discharged veterans, medically discharged members, those killed on active duty, NOAA/Public Health Service uniformed members, DOD civilian employees, and certain school employees near military installations
