Public schools (grades 7-12) and institutions of higher education that issue student ID cards must print mental health and suicide crisis resource telephone numbers on the back of the cards

The Commissioner of Human Services, in consultation with the Commissioner of Education, will determine which mental health and suicide crisis resources to include for K-12 schools

The Commissioner of Human Services, in consultation with the Secretary of Higher Education, will determine resources for higher education institutions

Schools and colleges may optionally add contact information for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, on-campus crisis centers, or other mental health support services

The updated requirements apply to new and replacement student identification cards issued starting in the first full school year or academic year following enactment
