Creates an exception allowing the board to hold benefits in abeyance when the member is challenging a board decision that denied or adjusted their benefits

Preserves the board's authority to hold benefits in abeyance when a member faces criminal charges or has been dismissed from public employment due to administrative charges

Allows the board to adjust a member's retirement or death benefits based on the final outcome of any legal proceeding involving the member
