Requires health insurance carriers to reimburse telemedicine and telehealth services at rates equal to in-person visit rates, changing current law that only requires rates "not to exceed" in-person rates

Applies to all major health coverage programs including private carriers, Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare, State Health Benefits Commission plans, and School Employees' Health Benefits Commission plans

Exempts telemedicine or telehealth organizations that do not provide any in-person health care services in New Jersey from the equal reimbursement requirement

Takes effect immediately and applies to reimbursement requests made on or after the date of enactment
