Undergraduate students who are parents or legal guardians of children under 18 years of age must be granted priority course registration at New Jersey institutions of higher education that offer priority registration to any other undergraduate students

Only New Jersey residents are eligible for the priority registration benefit

Priority registration must follow the same procedures used for other student groups already receiving priority registration at the institution

Institutions must notify potentially eligible students about the priority registration option before each academic semester's registration period

The law applies to institutions of higher education in New Jersey and takes effect immediately upon enactment
