Managed care plan enrollees would only pay one co-payment or deductible for follow-up care during any 180-day period after the initial payment, regardless of the number of visits

Applies to post-operative follow-up care, follow-up care for diagnosed illnesses or conditions, and follow-up care for any other covered service provided by in-network providers

Prohibits participating providers from collecting more than one co-payment or deductible during the 180-day period

Requirement only applies if the covered person complies with the plan's preauthorization or review requirements for determining medical necessity

Takes effect on the first day of the fourth month after enactment and applies to contracts and policies issued or renewed after that date
