Eliminates the New Jersey residency requirement for teachers employed by school districts, charter schools, or renaissance school projects specifically to teach mathematics or science

Retains the existing state residency requirement for all other public officers and employees, including teachers of subjects other than math and science

Addresses reported shortages of mathematics and science teachers in New Jersey by expanding the pool of eligible candidates to include out-of-state residents

Amends R.S.52:14-7, which was expanded in 2011 to require state residency for nearly all public employees with limited exceptions

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
