School districts may count up to three inclement weather closure days per school year toward the 180-day requirement if they provide at least four hours of virtual or remote instruction on those same days

Each school district board of education and charter/renaissance school board of trustees must develop and adopt a policy for virtual or remote instruction during inclement weather closures

The bill expands existing virtual instruction provisions, which previously only applied to closures exceeding three consecutive days due to declared emergencies or public health directives

Employee compensation protections under collective bargaining agreements remain intact and are not superseded by the virtual instruction provisions

The act takes effect on the first day of the fourth month following enactment
