Professionals and small businesses operating within impacted construction zones may apply for waivers of license and registration renewal fees during active public highway projects

Eligible small businesses must have 50 or fewer full-time employees, be independently owned, headquartered in New Jersey, and not delinquent on state payments

Applicants must demonstrate they suffered significant income reduction caused by the highway project that impedes traffic flow or restricts access to their business location

Commissioner of Transportation must notify relevant directors of project commencement and completion, and within 30 days of enactment must report all ongoing highway projects statewide

Relief applies to federal, state, county, or municipal highway construction, improvement, or maintenance projects, including repairs from natural disasters or catastrophic failures
