Authorizes county sheriffs to certify that law enforcement officers employed by their sheriff's department meet the required criteria for law enforcement license renewal

Currently, only the chief law enforcement officer of an employing law enforcement unit can provide certification for license renewal applications submitted to the Police Training Commission

License renewal certification requirements include verification of good moral character, completion of training courses, absence of certain criminal convictions, and no membership in groups advocating discrimination or government overthrow

Officers must also certify they have not engaged in conduct demonstrating bias or discrimination based on protected characteristics under the Law Against Discrimination

Takes effect immediately upon enactment and amends P.L.2022, c.65 governing law enforcement officer licensing
